What is Zehland?

Zehland (pronounced Zay-land) must seem like a big world to small chicks.  Ferdinand and Nina and their four chick friends live at Tulipa Farm with its large barn and barnyard, orchards and fields, meadows brimming with wildflowers, and sheep, goats, cows, pigs and geese.

For a newly hatched chick, Ferdinand is a daring one. His impulsive nature prompts him to do the unexpected; one never knows where he will be or what he will do next. This keeps the other chicks at Tulipa Farm on their toes, especially Nina. She adores Ferdinand and follows him everywhere.

Besides Ferdinand and Nina, four other yellow chicks live at Tulipa Farm each with their own personality. Though none of them are quite as adventurous as the two wanderers, they are all close friends. When Ferdinand and Nina go missing, they are the first to try to find them.
